Our project considered the benefits and innovation linked open data has on museum collections. We reviewed how LOD structures can be used to leverage and unite museum collections by examining how LOD works, what museum projects utilize LOD, and considered future possibilities in our individual research. For instance, Thomas Kiedrowski framed his perspective of LOD as a means to “sharing the public good” in art and whether or not that is generally perceived as a good/bad thing with implications that society will be able to not only enjoy art itself but increase the cultural meaning for generations to come. Richard Goldstein explored using LOD to encourage discursive navigation through art museums by linking works to their iconographic content, inspired by the work of Abby Warburg. In this way,┬áinvolving navigation of physical space and actual artworks through LODLAM development brings the data project full circle back into our tactile world to enrich and expand phenomenological experience.

Thomas Kiedrowski is a current MLIS graduate student at the Pratt Institute. He is interested in old and new technologies, and exploring ways to incorporate story-telling and archival materials with digital applications. His first book Andy Warhol's New York City: Four Walks, Uptown to Downtown was written up in the New York Times and Thomas has given a number of talks on the subject. He enjoys being outwardly curious and questioning everything. His advice is to "embrace the people who look out for you and live the life you imagine for yourself."
